Miss Metro Contestants Visits Zoomlion Project Sites

The 15 beautiful young Ghanaian ladies who are vying to win the maiden edition of the Miss Metro Ghana (MMG) have paid a visit to some project sites of Ghana’s leading waste management giant, Zoomlion Ghana limited in Accra to familiarize themselves with its the company operations.

The purpose of the visit was to introduce the finalists of the beauty pageant who will embark on various sanitation projects aimed at helping the various MMDAs to effectively manage waste.

Addressing the ladies on the operations of Zoomlion, Mr. James Deku, a Communications Officer through a power point presentation explained to the ladies the various intervention programs being executed by Zoomlion to help fight filth.

He said the company has expanded its facilities in waste recycling to effectively manage the increasingly waste generation in the country. “Some of these waste recycling companies owned by Zoomlion includes Accra Compost and Recycling plant, Universal Plastic Product and Recycling Plant, Yeeco Plastics Recycling and the Accra Sewerages Ghana limited”, he added.

The Business Development Manager of Accra Compost & Recycling Plant (ACARP), Mr. Michael Tuwor, led the ladies on the facility tour of the Accra Compost & Recycling Plant and explained the various recycling processes of the waste and their end products.

The event coordinator of Miss Metro, Denis Glah, expressed his excitement about the in-depth knowledge the ladies has gain from the Zoomlion group and advocated for partnership to help tackle waste in the various Assemblies.

The grand finale of the Miss Metro Ghana was held on March 3, 2018 at Apata Kesie inside the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.

According to the organizers, the winner will be the official face of the pageant and nationally recognized as an ambassador for environmental sanitation education in Ghana.

The winner will also be an advocate for the promotion of good sanitation practices among citizens and undertake environmental projects during her year of reign.

To be at the forefront of the environmental sanitation service industry, by the introduction and utilization of simple but modern technologies and methods of waste management at affordable and competitive rates.
